About

Helping Kids Fall in Love with Reading for Over 30 Years

Kluwell Publications is a proudly Australian-owned company, founded in 1998 by two passionate educators, Stan Kluzek and Andrew Coldwell, who shared more than 50 years of combined teaching experience across primary classrooms, leadership roles, and curriculum development.
The name Kluwell comes from a blend of their surnames, Kluzek and Coldwell, and the mission has always been simple: create fun, meaningful tools that make reading a positive and rewarding part of every child’s daily routine.

Since launching our very first Home Reading Journal (originally called R.E.A.D. I.T.) in 1996, we have helped more than six million students worldwide discover the joy of reading.

We are proud to say our products are 100% created and produced in Australia, and we are officially registered with Australian Made. This supports local production while delivering quality educational resources trusted by teachers, students, and guardians across the globe.

Kluwell Publications was formed. The two original authors, Stan Kluzek and Andrew Coldwell, had a combined primary teaching background of over 50 years and in 1996 they followed their passion for teaching reading and developed their first publication called ‘R.E.A.D. I.T. – Home Reading’ Books. Their idea to produce a reading booklet for kids to use as a home reading log, promoting that reading is fun and encouraging the use of reading diaries with reading rewards such as stickers and awards. Currently Kluwell’s My Home Reading journals, previously known as R.E.A.D. I.T. – Home Reading Books, has sold more than six million copies worldwide!
